Read through the links about composition and the elements and principles of design info.

Take a variety of photographs that illustrate: leading lines, framing, rule of thirds, and repetition.

Create four labeled 5in x 7in (or 7in x 5in) - native resolution (leave the file the resolution it is, leave the resolution box blank when using the crop tool) jpg digital files. Name the file what it is an example of (example: leading lines.jpg, framing.jpg, rule of thirds.jpg, and repetition .jpg). Create a folder in your "Photo" folder named "yourlastnamecomp". Put the 4 files in it.

As always, do your very best on this assignment. Spend some time planning before shooting. This isn't a scavenger hunt. They should be good pictures that illustrate the different composition theories.

Turn in the following 4 files:

1. Example of leading lines.

2. Example of framing.

3. Example of rule of thirds

4. Example of repetition.

5.Pick the best of the 4 and make a print.

Vision:
Is you image original, innovative and daring, or just another example of the same old thing? Does it fulfill the requirements for the assignment (see assignment sheet) ?.

Aesthetics:
Have you used the appropriate elements and principles of design that would enhance your photograph or did you just shoot what was in front of the camera? Have you used good composition or did you just place the center of interest in the center because it was easy?

Mechanics:
Camera Techniques: Is the image sharp/in focus? Is the exposure correct? Was the appropriate aperture/shutter speed used (if applicable for your camera), did you find the best angle?

Computer Techniques: Is the image sharp/in focus? Is it resized correctly? Is it color corrected and sharpened?

Presentation: Is the artwork presented in a professional manner as outlined in the assignment?
